The golden ‘Venus’ statues, the symbol of the 61st Golden Orange Film Festival to be held in ANTALYA this year, have started to decorate the streets and intersections of the city after their maintenance. Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, Turkey’s longest-running film festival, which was first held in 1964 with the initiative of Antalya Mayor Avni Tolunay and canceled last year after the controversy over Nejla Demirci’s documentary film ‘Kanun Hükmü’, will meet art lovers for the 61st time this year. With the festival to be held between October 5-12, preparations are in full swing. The Venus statues, which are the symbol of the festival and distributed to different points of the city during the festival period, were taken out of the warehouse by the Metropolitan Municipality employees and their final maintenance was completed. The 64 statues, which were painted and damaged parts repaired, were placed on the streets and intersections at different points of the city. The golden Venus statue holding an orange, which adorns the streets and intersections, attracts the attention of those who see it. The 61st edition of the festival will be held this year, with 12 films competing in the National Feature Film Competition, 10 films in the Short Film Competition and 8 films in the Documentary Competition.
