According to the results of the second round of the presidential election in MOLDOVA, current President Maya Sandu was elected for the second time. The turnout rate was 54.30 percent in the second round of the election organized upon the expiration of Maya Sandu’s term of office. In the election in which Sandu from the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and Gagauz Turk Aleksandr Stoyanoglo, the candidate of the Socialists Party of Moldova (PSRM), competed, 99.68 percent of the votes were counted. Accordingly, Sandu won the election race with 55.35 percent of the votes, while Stoyanoglo remained at 44.65 percent. The final results are expected to be announced within 3 days. The candidate who comes first in the election will be sworn in and assume the presidency within 45 days.
